Terms of service

The short version: lawful use only, £7 per VIN request, checked by hand.

The service

We look up the vehicle identification number (VIN) for a UK registration you give us and email it to you. The vehicle details step is free. The VIN request costs £7, paid once. We process each request by hand and aim to email the VIN within 1 working day. It is not an instant service.

Independence

We are an independent commercial service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the DVLA or gov.uk.

Lawful use

You must use the service only for lawful purposes such as parts, servicing, insurance, fleet records and pre-purchase checks. We may refuse or cancel requests that look like misuse, and we never provide keeper details.

If we cannot find the VIN

If we cannot find the VIN, we email you to explain and refund your £7.

Your rights

You have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start work straight away, you agree that this right ends once we have emailed the VIN.

Liability

We take care to send the correct VIN, but you should check it against the vehicle and its V5C before relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
